I could have missed this. This morning I wake up before everyone else and start my day. (The Proverbs 31 woman is patting me on the back.) I could have made the choice to start laundry or write grocery lists. Instead I chose time alone with my Lord and His Word. In return I got peace for my day plus an added bonus. You see because I was sitting with God this morning, I had a lap to offer to my littlest when she woke up unexpectedly. Had I been up and busy I would have shooed her off to the couch or the breakfast table. Then I would have missed the blessing of rocking my sweet almost 4 year old girl back to sleep. Counting my gifts today. This one is at the top of my list. What's on your list today? Don't have a list? You should most definitely start one. What is your enough? This week I’ve seen mama’s that have quietly sighed their enough’s after long days of laundry, little one's battles, and cabin fever. I’ve seen precious servants of God wade their way through the heart break that accompanied the sights, smells, sounds, and touch of poverty. Enough, they said. I’ve had my own enough’s lately. They‘ve been all over the board. I say enough stuff. Enough always wanting more, more, more. We have so much, other’s so little. Enough trash TV. Gone are the days of Charles and Caroline, John and Olivia, and Lucy and Ricky. Enough food. We have leftovers that waste away in the fridge while others go to bed hungry. Enough bickering. Appreciate the sibling…the family that God has given you. Some are alone in this world. Enough sickness and suffering. Some people just can’t seem to catch a break. My heart aches for them. I’ve been finding Him in the little things again this week. My bunch has been enjoying some much needed down time the last two weeks. We’ve been soaking up lots of family time and have been enjoying several days of doing absolutely nothing. Well, we all got the itch to “do something”. My girls love crafts. Self talk is a beast! Can I get an AMEN?!? Anybody else toting this burden around? You know, the one that you get fed up with DAILY. The one that nags and nags and never has anything good to say? The one that is crazy about comparison. Laughs it up when you forget something for the umpteenth time. Rolls her eyes when you are late….AGAIN. Constantly reminds you that it’s been two weeks since you exercised. Drops hints every morning that your house could be cleaner. Don’t you just want to shout…..”ZIP IT!!” (cause we don’t say the “S” word at our house) ;) So what do we do about it ladies? How do we silence the soul-poisoning voice of self? 　 In my reading yesterday, I came across a question. “Do you experience Jesus Christ in the daily activities of your life?” My mind immediately went to a conversation that I had just had with a friend. I was telling her how neat it was to see God work in the small stuff, and how He customizes His blessings to the individual person. You see the thing that blesses me may not bless you. I’ll give you “a day in the life of me” example and we can compare notes….. I woke up this particular day (reluctantly) with a huge sense of dread for the day that lay before me. I had too much to do and no time to do it. At the top of my list was a trip to Lowe’s (with a three year old) that was going to involve itemized lists, price comparison, hours of my time, and way to much use of my tired brain. I'm plundering through the archives today. This is a post that I wrote last month for Jana at Grace for My Mess . I never published it here, so I thought I'd share it today. This Christmas brought with it a production from the children of our church. This years play was entitled “The Christmas County Spelling Bee”. The “Bee” included a cast of contestants, the pronouncer, the judge, and the commentator. I’ll give you a little overview of how it went… The kids were all part of a spelling bee. This spelling bee was made up of the names of Jesus. It was a play full of meaning and quick wit. One of the scenes that stood out for me included a fast paced, back and forth between a contestant and the pronouncer. On this last day of 2011 I’ve found myself challenged by Tsh Oxeneider 's 20 Questions. What a wonderful way to reflect on God’s work in my life throughout this past year. These questions were really tough for me. Age has not been kind to my memory, so these questions really knocked out the cobwebs and made me dig deep in the vault that is my mind. Our summer was one of the best, if not THE best summers that we have ever experienced. I just love it when God speaks to me in unexpected ways. No matter how unexpected they may be, they are most always clear. Today's clear message came in the form of a package. A package from Blessings Unlimited(Dayspring) *smile* I love that name. It is such a perfect description of God's blessing....they are unlimited. HE's unlimited.  Hmmm....ok...back to the message. So I open this box of welcome surprise to find a bright and shiny, fancy nancy, new journal! WooHoo!!! You see, I have a weakness for all things stationary. Pens, pencils, paper, note cards, journals. I just love the stuff!  Now I can retire my worn out little spiral notebook, and open up the crisp, unmarked pages of my new jewel, I mean journal. The cover of my new treasure is filled with words of affirmation. Words like...Valued, Irreplaceable, Accepted, Wonderfully Made, Delightful, Loved. But the word that jumps off of the cover, and hits me right smack dab in the face/heart is the word God ...
