Redeemed....a review

Image
Redeemed how I love to proclaim it... Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb... Redeemed and I can not be silent... His love is the theme of my song! Redeemed, Redeemed, Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb... Redeemed, Redeemed, His child and forever I am! Dayspring has out done themselves, once again. Never have I been so inspired by a product line. Even better than the quality of these beautiful pieces, is the powerful message behind them. A message of redemption. "O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me! I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, And like a cloud, your sins. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you." Isaiah 44: 21 &22 "He has made everything beautiful in His time."  A message for you as you glance at yourself in the mirror each morning. The message that He has redeemed you and made you beautiful! A beautiful reminder to wear around your neck...Redeemed! I'm so excited to be able to shar...

Not just another Friday

Image
So it's Good Friday, or as I've learned recently, Holy Friday/God Friday. That's what they called it years ago. Up until this year....even though I knew what happen on this day....it's kinda been just another Friday. I know,  that sounds awful and so very disrespectful. It's not that I didn't appreciate what happen all those years ago on this day. I think it was just that I'd heard this story since birth  and I had just gotten used to it. Ya know what I mean? How terrible is that? I'd been churched into a state of complacency and routine. This year however, has been a horse donkey of a different color. This year has been intentional. I've walked through this Lenten season on purpose. Which by the way is a huge change for me since I was  raised Southern Baptist and didn't know a thing about Lent until this year. Anyway, thanks to Ann Voskamp  (who is such a humble servant of God), I started my journey of researching and diving head first into c...

WORD IS THE WORD

Image
I'm plundering through the archives today. This is a post that I wrote last month for Jana at Grace for My Mess . I never published it here, so I thought I'd share it today. This Christmas brought with it a production from the children of our church. This years play was entitled “The Christmas County Spelling Bee”. The “Bee” included a cast of contestants, the pronouncer, the judge, and the commentator. I’ll give you a little overview of how it went… The kids were all part of a spelling bee. This spelling bee was made up of the names of Jesus. It was a play full of meaning and quick wit. One of the scenes that stood out for me included a fast paced, back and forth between a contestant and the pronouncer. It went something like this… Contestant Number 17 Katie Collins steps up to the mic. Pronouncer: Your word is “WORD.” Katie: Sentence, please. Pronouncer: Your word is “WORD.” Katie: You just said that. Sentence please. Pronouncer: That WAS the sentence? T...

The Big Finish

Image
Well folks...She did it! She crossed the finish line on her 10 miles today. Wish you could have seen her face as she rode those last few feet. I'm so  thankful I was able to witness this...her finding her wings....her stretching them out and embarking on a journey of giving. What a blessing it was. She wants to say a BIG thank you to everyone for their support. Special thanks go to.... Deborah Arrant, Pam Hambrick, Sherry Layton, Kasey Bossard, Kim Madden, Lori Bonds, Twilight Carden, Jacque Byrd, Sharon Chavers, Keith Nall, and Renee Johnson. Thank you all so much for blessing people you will never even meet. Your humble gift will make a huge impact in a child's life. You've allowed God to work through you....through your generosity.....you've been His hands and feet. Thank you again, from one PROUD Mama, and one little girl whose legs are feeling like noodles, Tracey <><

REAL

Image
Linking up with Lisa-Jo over at The Gypsy Mama for 5 Minute Friday! Today's word? REAL! Here I go.... I love real. I love the “realness” of people’s lives. I love it because the real is what God sees. So why not let everyone else see it. When we get to see the real of other people’s lives it sort of let’s us off the hook. You know that hook don’t you? The hook of perfection. No one’s life is perfect. And when people let us catch a glimpse of their real, we don’t feel such an overwhelming need to live flawlessly. I had a really real moment this morning. Want to see my real? I mean my really real…my toilet bowl scrubbing, snotty nose wiping, laundry washing real! Here ya go! I spared you the pic of the deceased-two-day-peanut-butter-snatching-mouse. You can thank me later. And as a bonus, I’ll take it a step further and share this…. The really real, straight-out-of-the-bed-hair-in-a-clip-no-make-up-late-for-school-ME! And the "real...

A Child's Heart

Image
I'm writing today on behalf of my precious middle "KP". Kelsie is a 10 year old with a heart for missions. This fills me with joy and scares me to death all at the same time. For now I will focus on the joy. I'm honored to walk alongside Kelsie as she puts feet to the ideas that she has bouncing around in her head. Ideas of how to help others. Ideas of how a 10 year old can make the world a better place. This is her mission for Feburary.... Biking for $Bills$ Raising Funds and Awarness for the children and families of World Vision. Kelsie has been led to help children around the world without ever leaving home. Her vision is to raise enough money to purchase some form of livestock for a World Vision family. Kelsie will raise this money using her prayers, her bicycle, and her leg power. She will bike for as many miles as her legs will allow. Her goal is 10 miles. She will be asking people to sponsor her by the mile, or if they choose, simply by...
