This weekend we have an opportunity. An opportunity to lift up the women in our lives. Sunday is the day marked on our calendars for the celebration of our Mothers. I applaud the Mothers that are reading here. Mothers everywhere. In whatever season of motherhood that you may find yourself. I want to give encouragement to women everywhere who long to, but are yet to be mothers. I want to let you know that even if you never usher a child into this world that shares your DNA, there is someone out there that needs a mother figure in their life. Sweet sister, you just might be that woman. To the Mothers who didn’t experience the pains of birthing, but have their own sense of birth pains through adoption. For the Mothers who carried that precious child for those days, weeks, or months and had to give him or her back to the Father.  For the grieving Mothers. The widowed Mothers. The single Mothers.  For the Mothers missing their own sweet Mamas. Longing for...

As women...wives....mothers....sometimes we think we have to make everything okay. We think we have to be strong when no one else can be. We place before ourselves an unrealistic set of standards and we judge, sometimes other women, but mostly ourselves, by them. Grace for the Good Girl Author, Emily P. Freeman , tells us to take off our masks. I tell you (more like I tell myself) stop trying to live up to what you think everyone else wants you to be. The ONLY thing that matters is what GOD, your Heavenly Father, wants you to be. Let's follow the example set by Jason Crabb in the words of this song. For the past few days I’ve been reading and re-reading Proverbs 31:10-31 , the story of The Virtuous Wife. I want to learn from this woman. The woman that was pleasing in God’s sight. The woman whose story, God chose to tell. I learned in my study of these verses, that they are an acrostic poem. Each verse begins with a successive letter of the Hebrew alphabet, encouraging it’s memorization. We do not know who this woman was, but it is very clear what she was. 10Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. (Thank You Lord for these words of affirmation) 11The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. 12She does him good and not evil.
